Minis & Juniors - Training Sessions & Matches
Weston-super-Mare RFC Mini & Junior section was formed 40 years ago by Bob Hedges. The section was the first mini rugby club side in England, playing mostly against private schools. Then there were only a handful of players in the whole section. Today we have more than 200 boys and girls playing and training on Sunday mornings.
We have a full compliment of age groups from under 6s to under 17s. Many players at the club have been with us right from the tender age of 6 and have gone through the ranks to play for the Colts and Senior teams. We have fully qualified coaches for all teams and they are at the club on Sunday mornings to answer any questions parents might wish to ask about the training and matches. We take player safety very seriously and our focus is on building team work, fitness and technical skill. But above all we aim to make playing rugby fun for both players and parents. If you would like to play mini/junior rugby for a National League club, please come down on Sunday mornings at 10:00 or contact the team coach for your age group. Whatever your age or previous rugby experience, you can be assured of a warm welcome to both players and parents.
